Waihe`e Ridge Trail  (Na ala hele, Maui County)

GATE HOURS: 7 AM - 7 PM, Daily

The beautiful Waihee Ridge Trail, outside Waihee, HI on Maui, is managed by the Department of Land and Natural Resources. There is NO Waihee Ridge Trail Access from Boy Scout Camp Maluhia. However, the road to get to the current trailhead and the parking lot closest to the trailhead are owned and maintained by the Maui County Council Boy Scouts of America.

Only the close lot and the lot at the bottom of the road are for trail parking. Going past the close lot to the camp is considered trespassing on private property. Visiting the camp is by appointment only.

To keep the road to the trailhead (and to the homes and Scout Camp) safe and free of hazardous materials (drug paraphanalia, garbage, bio-hazards, etc.), the gate at the bottom of the road is open from 7:00AM-5:00PM, daily and locked outside of those times.

The public is also welcome to park in the lower parking lot, immediately to the right after turning onto Camp Maluhia/Waihee Ridge Trail Road, off of Kahekili Hwy. This lot is always accessible and hikers can easily hike around the gate and up the side of the road to the current trailhead, about eight tenths of a mile. The hike from the trailhead to the top of the ridge is almost 4 mile miles, roundtrip.

DANGER! Hike at your own risk. Beware of hazardous weather, dangerous plants and animals, falling trees and limbs. The trail is not owned or monitored by the Boy Scouts of America.
